SOUTH BEND - Eileen W. Smith, 74, of Barbie Street, died at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Care Center-West after an illness. Mrs. Smith was a cosmetologist and beautician. She was born April 18, 1921, in Tippecanoe County, Ind., and lived in South Bend for 39 years.

On April 6, 1921, in Tippecanoe County, as Eileen W. Odle, she married William G. Smith. He survives with a son, Douglas J. of South Bend; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was a member of Ridgedale Presbyterian Church and served as an elder and choir member.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the church. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home and one hour before services Saturday in the church.
