D. Clifford Smith, 88, of Bancroft
Circle, Mishawaka, Ind., died at 4 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18, in
his residence. He was born in Jones, Mich., on Oct. 11, 1910, and
had lived in this area most of his life. Clifford retired from
Miles Laboratory in 1966 as a truck driver. He was a member of
Kane Masonic Lodge #183 F & AM in Elkhart, Ind. He married
the former Opal Yirchott, who preceded him in death on
Nov. 6, 1964. He then married Opal Bradbury, who died on
June 24, 1995. Clifford is survived by his daughters, Wanda
(Jack) Strintz of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Mollie J. Cody
of Chicago, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Judy (Joe) Cook of Fort
Myers, Fla.; a stepson, William Bradbury of Mishawaka; two
grandchildren, Cathy Hamilton and Kim (Ralph) Strintz; and
by a step-granddaughter, Debra Bobik.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, with Rev. Ervin Mize officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind.
