Caleb C. Smith
Caleb C. Smith, aged, 72, of
1111 North Kentucky street, died at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday in the
residence. He had been ill two years. He was born in South Bend
March 8, 1872, and lived here all he life. His marriage to Ida
Point, who survived, took place Nov. 25, 2900, in South Bend.
Surviving also are two daughters, Mrs. Mamie Kollar, of South
Bend, and Mrs. Lulubelle Whitaker, of Anderson, Ind.; three
grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Lorinda Witz, of Lawndale,
Calif; Mrs. Rachel Booker, of Niles, Mich.; Mrs. Elizabeth
Cornwall, of this city, and Mrs. Loretta Rose, of Mishawaka; and
two brothers, Levi and Sherry Smith, both of this city. Friends
may call Wednesday evening in the Russell funeral chapel and
until services there at 10 a.m. Thursday. Rev. Quentin Everest,
pastor of the River Park Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial
will be in Mount Pleasant cemetery.
