Helen B. Smigieliski (Koontz), 90, of
Clearwater, Fla., formerly of Mishawaka, passed away at 6:30 p.m.
Friday, April 21, in Clearwater after an illness. Mrs.
Smigieliski was born on November 5, 1909, in South Bend, as the
daughter of the late Daniel and Cora (Burton) Beagles.
In 1929, as the former Helen Beagles,
she married Arnold Koontz in Plymouth. He passed away on
June 28, 1967. She remarried in 1968 to Frank Smigieliski, who
passed away on December 1, 1977. She was also preceded in death
by one son, James in 1989; and one sister, Cecil. Mrs.
Smigieliski was a lifetime resident of Mishawaka, moving to
Florida three years ago, and was a dedicated member of Albright
United Methodist Church, Mishawaka.
Mrs. Smigieliski is survived by two
daughters, Patty (Paul) Haynes of Clearwater, Fla., and
Sue (Art) Kronewitter of Mishawaka; three sons, Dan
(Loretta) Duda-Koontz of South Bend, Dick (Peggy) Koontz of
Clearwater, Fla., and Arnold (Annette) Koontz of Bradenton, Fla.;
two sisters, Bernice Payne and Betty Heiser, both
of Plymouth; a brother, Bud Beagles of Kentucky; and by 15
grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 25,
from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 West 8th
Street, Mishawaka. There was no service. Contributions in memory
of Mrs. Smigieliski may be made to the Albright United Methodist
Church, 504 West Mishawaka Avenue, Mishawaka, IN 46544.
