MISHAWAKA - Blanche B. Slabaugh, 97, passed away Sunday, January
3, 2010, in the Saint Joseph Regional Hospital in Mishawaka after
a brief illness. Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Miller
of Elkhart; and son, Keith Slabaugh (Betty) of Elkhart;
grandchildren, Thomas Wilburn (Kelly) of Elkhart, Kim Younger
(Brian) of Cape Coral, Florida, Jimmy Wilburn (Christine) of
Riverview, Florida, Brad Slabaugh (Donna) of Crestview, Kentucky,
Paulette Ingle (Mark) of Tipton, Indiana, Michelle Weaver
(William) of Castro Valley, California, and Mikeal Slabaugh
(Lisa) of Granger. Step-grandchildren, Dennis Vergon (Cheryl) of
North Liberty, David Vergon of Mishawaka and Louanne Spencer of
Granger. Blanch is also survived by 28 great-grandchildren and
nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Herman Slabaugh, and son, Roger Slabaugh, as well as her
parents and all her siblings. Blanche retired from Uniroyal after
more than 30 years of service. She was a member of East United
Methodist Church in Mishawaka. There will be no visitation at
this time; however, a memorial service will be held at East
United Methodist Church on Sunday, April 11, 2010, on her 98th
birthday. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka.
Bubb Funeral Chapel will handle the cremation. In lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions may be made to East United
Methodist Church, 1621 E 3rd Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544.
