Joseph E. Skoving
Joseph E. Skoving, 80, of 427 Sugar Pine Drive, Mishawaka, died
at 8:45 a.m. Sunday in Fountainview Place, after being ill the
past month. He was employed with Bendix Corp, for 28 years,
retiring in 1968. Born Sept. 8, 1902, in Czechoslovakia, he lived
in South Bend since 1904, coming from there. On Nov. 1, 1927, in
Goshen, he married Opal Roberts, who survives. He also is
survived by a son, James W. of Griffith, Ind., and two
grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Welsheimer Funeral
Home, 521 N. William, with Rev. Kenneth R. Hemphill retried
United Methodist minister, officiating. Interment will be in
Riverview Mausoleum. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Tuesday in the funeral home. He was a member of the First United
Methodist church, Senior Citizens Club of the church, the Men's
Club, 2 X 4 Club of Townhouse East and the American Association
of Retired Persons.
