SOUTH BEND - Services for Mildred M.
Sjoquist, 82, of Manchester Drive, who died at 3:20 p.m.
Friday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday
in McGann Funeral Home, 2313 E. Edison Road. Cremation will
follow at Riverview Crematory, with burial in St. Joseph Valley
Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8
p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
Mrs. Sjoquist retired in 1971 after more
than 20 years as a commercial artist at Uniroyal. She was born
March 2, 1913, in Minneapolis, and lived in this area since 1944,
coming from Minneapolis.
On March 26, 1938, in Minneapolis, she
married Kermit J. Sjoquist. He died March 26, 1971. Surviving are
three sons, James K. of Plymouth, Frederick J. of Tuscon, Ariz.,
and John P. of South Bend; three grandchildren; a
great-grandchild; a sister, Leanor Schaller of
Minneapolis; and two brothers, Stanley Swan of Minneapolis
and Curtis Swan of Westport, Conn. She was a member of Sunnyside
Presbyterian Church, past president of St. Joseph County
Watercolor Society, and participated in YWCA art classes.
