MISHAWAKA - Frank Sitarz, 92, passed away on Saturday,
March 22, in Fountainview Place, Mishawaka. He was born on August
15, 1915, in South Bend, as the son of Michael and Agnes (Kurdzielewicz)
Sitarz. Frank worked for the Studebaker Corp. for 33 1/2 years
until they closed and then retired from Dodge Manufacturing Corp.
His love of Studebaker's continued as he was the proud owner of
three Studebaker cars. He and Gene were very active in the
International Studebaker's Drivers Club for many years. They made
many cherished friends both nationally and internationally,
sharing their love and knowledge about Studebaker's with many
other enthusiasts. They were also members of the Elkhart Vintage
Auto Club. He was a museum volunteer, a member of the Auto
Restoration Club and was a member of the First United Methodist
Church.
Frank was preceded in death by his loving
wife of 64 years, Gene, and by his parents, Agnes and Michael
Sitarz, his sister, Mary, and two brothers, Casmier and Joseph.
Frank and his wife had no children of their own but were lovingly
known as "Aunt" and "Uncle" to many of his
cousins and their families.
Family and friends may visit from 6 to 8
p.m. Thursday, March 27, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th
Street, Mishawaka, where funeral services will be held at 8 p.m.,
with Rev. Ron Bowman officiating. Contributions may be made in
Frank's memory to the Studebaker National Museum, 201 S. Chapin
St., South Bend, IN 46601.
