MISHAWAKA Joseph Siri, 79, of
430 W. 11th Street, died late Friday night in the Ridgedale
Nursing Home, after an illness of five months. He was born in
Savonna, Italy, on Feb. 4, 1893, and moved to Mishawaka 60 years
ago from that city. He was retired from Uniroyal after 42 years
of service and was a veteran of World War I, a member of the Dmicis
Club and the Disabled American Veterans chapter of South Bend.
He is survived by his wife, the former Rose Sobero.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Angela Trippel; four
sons, George and Julius of Mishawaka, Louis of Sherwood, Wis.,
and William of South Bend; three sisters, Carmela, Gin and
Santina, and three brothers, Giovani. Angelo and Pietro, all of
Italy; 26 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. Sunday, all
day Monday and until services Tuesday in the DeVos Funeral Chapel
where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday. Services
will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Bavos Catholic Church,
with Rev. Stephen Cvaniga, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in
Fairview Cemetery.
