Loretta Barbara Sipe

March 20, 1917 - July 10, 2002

Loretta Barbara Sipe, 85, of Homewood Ave., Mishawaka passed away Wednesday, July 10, in her daughter's home after an illness.

Loretta was born on March 20, 1917 in Mishawaka as the daughter of the late Martin and Margaret (Weinkauf) Boehnlein. Loretta was also preceded in death by a son, Gerald Sipe, six brothers, Bernard, Joseph, William, Carl, Lawrence and Al Boehnlein; and two sisters, Elizabeth Boehnlein and Marie Boehnlein.

On August 6, 1938 in Mishawaka as Loretta Boehnlein she married Gerald Sipe who preceded her in death on January 4, 1944.

Loretta is survived by a daughter, Martha (Troy) Stalcup of Mishawaka; a daughter-in-law, Linda Sipe of South Bend; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Martin (Irene) Boehnlein and Jim (Mary Louise) Boehnlein both of Mishawaka; five sisters, Margaret Prablo of Lakeville, IN, Catherine Basham of Warren Robbins, GA, Rita Pfaller of Orlando, FL, Irene (Don) Mc- Gann of Mishawaka, Rosemary Boehnlein of Mishawaka and a sister-in-law, Marjorie Boehnlein of Mishawaka.

Loretta worked as a Cook in the main kitchen of St. Joseph Hospital Mishawaka for 33 years until she retired in 1980. She was a member of St. Joseph Church Rosary Sodality.

Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, July 14 in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, where a Rosary will be recited at 3:30 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, July 15 in St. Joseph Catholic Church Mishawaka with Rev. Robert Yast officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
