SOUTH BEND-Mrs. Louise Fay Singleton, 81, passed away
Thursday in her residence at 11:15am. Louise was born on May 28,
1926 in South Bend to the late Edward Louis and Viola Georgia (Young)
Hoyt. They moved to Plymouth for awhile as a child but
return to South Bend where she lived most of her life.
She married Orville John Singleton who
survives of South Bend. Other survivors are three daughters:
Linda Singleton of South Bend; Laura (Curt) Steinbarger of
Warsaw, IN; Lisa Singleton of South Bend, three sons: Leon
(Carol) Singleton of Hubert, NC; Larry (Patsy) Singleton of
Mishawaka; Lewis (Deborah) Singleton of South Bend, a sister
Frances Kelly of South Bend, two brothers: Bud (Lorraine)
Hoyt of Garfield, AR and Arthur (Jackie) Hoyt of Niles, MI. Also
surviving are eight grandchildren and eighteen great
grandchildren.
Visitation times are on Sunday from 4- 6 pm
and on Monday from 10-11 am with the funeral service at 11:00 am
with Rev. Cornelius Ryan, CSC, Pastor, all at the McGann Hay
University Chapel, 2313 E. Edison Rd. at Ironwood. Cremation will
follow. Louise graduated from the former Washington-Clay High
School and was a longtime member of Little Flower Catholic
Church. She loved gardening and making quilts as well as being an
avid sports fan following Notre Dame Football, the Chicago White
Sox, Bears and Bulls and Larry Bird's career. When she was
younger she played the accordion and the organ. Because of the
cremation the family wishes in lieu of flowers that memorial
donations be made to the either the Alzheimer's Association or
the American Diabetes Association.
