SOUTH BEND - Karen L. Simpson, 39, of 3121 Red Maple Court, died Tuesday morning after a car-train accident at the West Street crossing in Mishawaka. Mrs. Simpson was employed by Hacienda Restaurant as a waitress. She was born Oct. 7, 1955, in Duluth, Minn., and lived in South Bend for four years, coming from Florida.

On Feb. 23, 1990, in Clearwater, Fla., she married Keith Simpson. He survives. Also surviving are her parents, Shirley and Jim (Spanswick) Sha of Dunedin, Fla.; three sisters, Connie Prutting and Colleen Harris, both of Texas, and Christie Piniewski of Toledo, Ohio; two brothers, Vince Sha of Minnesota and Bruce Sha of Texas; and a maternal grandmother, Clella Spanswick of Minnesota.

Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola. Cremation will take place. Friends may call one hour before services in the funeral home.
