Philip R. Simon

October 29, 1899 – October 5, 1976

Philip R. Simon, 76, of 1756 N. College, died at 10:20am today in his home after a nine month illness.  Simon was a founder of Simon Brothers, Inc.

Born on October 29, 1899, in Springfield IL, he lived here 52 years, coming from Elkhart IL.  On April 2, 1932, he married Florence Salinger.  She survives with a daughter, Mrs. Lucy Raykov, of Newton Lower Falls MA; a son, Charles S. of South Bend; five grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Nathalie Young of San Jose CA and two brothers, Arthur and Julius, both of South Bend.

Arrangements are being made by the Forest G. Hay & Son Funeral Home, 1201 S. Michigan.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Temple Beth El or the charity of the donor’s choice.
