SOUTH BEND - Louis J. Simon, 79, passed away at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2008, in his residence. Louis was born on July 11, 1928, in South Bend to Gasper and Anna (Deri) Simon. Mr. Simon retired in 1988, from Scotlad Foods, where he was employed for 23 years. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, and a member of the St. Joe Club. Louis enjoyed fishing and golf.

On August 30, 1957, in Elkhart he married Patricia L. Bolan. She died on August 5, 1973. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Simon and John Simon. Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey (Janet Rozycki) Simon and Louis (Shelly Rajski) Simon, both of South Bend; four grandchildren, Meagan, Jeffrey, Kyle, and Scot; a great-grandchild, Aubrey; and two sisters, Ann Pyke of Colon, MI and Irene Hill of South Bend.

Memorial Services will be held at 12:00 noon Monday, July 7, 2008, in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue. Family and friends may call 2 hours prior to services in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care.
