SOUTH BEND - Sylvester C. Sikorski,
78, of Rockford, Ill., formerly of Alan Road, South Bend, died at
9:17 a.m. Thursday in the Park Strathmoor Nursing Home, Rockford.
Mr. Sikorski was founder and owner of Sample Kit Co. and retired
as general foreman of Mastic Corp. where he was employed for 43
years. He was born Jan. 18, 1917, in South Bend, and was a
lifelong area resident area until moving to Rockford in July
1994.
On June 14, 1941, in South Bend, he married
Hildegarde Repczynski. She survives with two daughters, Mary Ann Locsmondy
and Kathlene Saros, both of Rockford; two grandchildren;
and a sister, Bernice Wozny of South Bend.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist
Catholic Church, member and past president of American Polish
Businessman's Association, Knights of Columbus Father J.A.
Nieuwland Assembly, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 58, St. Adalbert's
Harvest House, St. Joseph's Young Men's Society, American Legion
Pulaski Post 357, and Achievement Forum where he was named Man of
the Year in 1988. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday in the
church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call
from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Kaniewski Funeral Home,
3545 N. Bendix Drive.
