Mrs. Gertrude Sikorski: (South Bend Tribune 2/19/1979)

Mrs. Gertrude Sikorski, 71, of 1324 N. Cove, died early today at home after a brief illness. She was a former employe of Sobenite, Inc., where she worked for 20 years. Mrs. Sikorski was born on Jan. 2, 1908, in South Bend where she was a lifelong resident. On April 27, 1931, in South Bend as Gertrude Osmanski, she married Frank Sikorski who died in 1962. Surviving are a daughter, Virginia Sikorski and a son, Frank, both of South Bend; two grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Adeline Kanczuzewski, Mrs. Monica Cieplinski and Mrs. Genevieve Howard, all of South Bend. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph A. Jacobs, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Joseph Funeral Home.
