EDWARDSBURG - Henry E. Siderits, 87,
who resided at 71181 Michigan 62, south of Edwardsburg, Mich.,
passed away after an illness at 5:15 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9, at
the Fountain View Retirement Village of Buchanan, Mich. Mr.
Siderits was born on July 16, 1911, in South Bend, Ind., the son
of Edward and Paulina (Forbusch) Siderits. He was formerly
employed at Allied Signal (Bendix) as a setup person, and later
as supervisor.
He was married on Nov. 23, 1932, in South
Bend, to the former Irene P. Piechorowski, who died on
Aug. 20, 1992. He is survived by two sons, Howard Siderits of
Sequim, Wash., and Ronald Siderits of Leavenworth, Wash. There
are six grandchildren, David Siderits of Puyallup, Wash, Francine
Siderits-Hudson and Jennifer Hurd, both of
Wenatchee, Wash., Eric Siderits, Amy George and Raymond Siderits,
all from Seattle, Wash. Also, there are six
great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Siderits was a member of the church; a
charter member of the AFL-CIO at the Bendix Corporation; a life
member of National Trappers Association of Bloomington, Ill.; a
member of the DFV Club (German Club) in South Bend, having been
its 29th president in 1964 at the Club's 50th anniversary; and
was a member of the St. Stephen's Society of South Bend.
A Mass of Resurrection will be at 11 a.m.
(Mich. time) on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at Our Lady of the Lake
Catholic Church, with Father David Otto officiating. Burial will
be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind. Friends are
being received from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. (Mich. time) on Monday
at the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, where a prayer service will
be at 7:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be for one hour before
services on Tuesday morning at the church. Memorial contributions
may be made to Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church for Mass, or
for the building fund.
