LAKEVILLE - Diana J. Shubert, 60, of Lakeville, Indiana, passed away at 10:15 a.m. Friday, February 26, 2010, in Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness. Diana was born on August 25, 1949, in St. Joseph County, and resided in the area her lifetime. On May 5, 2002, in South Bend, she married Luke J. Shubert, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Sarah L. Vaughn of South Bend, IN; two sons, Martin A Matthews of South Bend and Jacob R. (Rebecca) Matthews of North Liberty, IN; four grandchildren, whom she loved and cherished; two sisters, Danna (Bill) Stoll of Vandalia, MI, and Christine (John) Michaels of Lydick; and a brother, Charles C. (Rebecca) Cox of Commerce Twp., MI. Diana loved and cherished her family and she will be dearly missed by her loving family and all who had the opportunity to know her during her life journey. She was a 1967 graduates of LaSalle High School in South Bend. Her hobbies were gardening, being outside working, being with her grandchildren, and she was a avid pet lover. She was also an auxiliary member of Lakeville American Legion Post 363. Her wishes were to be cremated which her loving family honored and a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 8th, in HANLEY & SONS "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road/Indiana 23, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to service time. The family request that all memorial contributions be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637. The HANLEY AND SONS "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home handled arrangements and services and extends its deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Shubert family.
