MISHAWAKA - Richard J. Shriver, 55, of Mishawaka, passed away at 10:43 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2008, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. Richard was born on April 15, 1953, in South Bend. He is survived by his mother, Ellen Persun of Mishawaka; two sisters, Linnie McGruther of Burke, VA, and Becky (George) Wood of Mishawaka; two aunts, Phyllis Hovermale and Donna Larkins; and an uncle, Earl Burkhart. He is also survived by four nephews, Kammarin, Kevin and Kyle McGruther, and Chad Wood; one niece, Beth Verteramo; two great-nieces, Andriana and Isabella Verteramo; and three great-nephews, Devin and Connor Rankin, and Solas McGruther. Richard worked for Mishawaka Steel for many years. He loved to fish and looked forward to participating in the "Pollack Open" fishing tournament with friends. He was an excellent auto repairman and worked for DB Body Shop for a while.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2008, in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, with one hour of visitation prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.
