MISHAWAKA - Sherry Lynn Shovelton, 52, passed away in her sleep on Friday, July 25, in her home. Sherry was born on May 3, 1956, in Bedford, IN, as the daughter of Frank and Helen (Louden) Barieau. She was preceded in death by a sister, Cathy Jan Barieau. At the age of three weeks she moved with her family to San Jose, CA, where she remained until the mid-1980s when she moved back to Indiana. On October 18, 1980, in San Jose, CA, she married Larry Shovelton. Surviving Sherry are her parents, Frank and Helen Barieau of South Bend; her husband, Larry; a son, Jason (Tammy) Shovelton of South Bend; stepchildren, Coreen (Rich) Santiano of MA, Mark (Shawna) Shovelton of MA, Judy Scribner of Osceola, IN, and Janine (Wayne) Mobley of Osceola, IN; eight grandchildren, Courtney, Heather, Emma, Sarah, Hannah, Denis, Helen and Garrett; two great-grandchildren, Camryn and Mikylah; and her beloved pug, Maggie. Sherry enjoyed spending her free time reading and working on her crafts. She loved Pugs and Tinkerbell. She always "marched to the beat of a different drummer."

A celebration of Sherry's life will be at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 30th, with Rev. Louis W. Staubs officiating in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, with a visitation one hour prior to the celebration. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Assn. Inc., 314 W. Catalpa Drive, Suite F, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
