Raymond H. Shoup, 94, of Blyler Place, South Bend, Ind., passed away on Thursday, April 27, in Memorial Hospital. Mr. Shoup was born on Sept. 16, 1905, in Goshen, Ind.
On Oct. 24, 1928, he married Katheryn E. Donat. Mr. Shoup is survived by his wife of 71 years, Katheryn E. of South Bend; his daughter, Janet (Jack L.) Darlene Morris of South Bend; and by two grandchildren, Darrid Paul Morris and Misty Lynne Morris, both of South Bend.
Mr. Shoup retired in 1964 after 40 years of employment with the Bendix Corporation, where he was an instructor and centerless grinder in the 4C department, and was a member of the Local #9 Union. Mr. Shoup was a devoted Christian, a member of the Community Baptist Church, and he taught Sunday school for over 30 years at Ardmore Brethren Church.
Friends and other relatives may call from 2 to 6 p.m. today in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street, South Bend, and one hour prior to services in the church. Services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 1, in the Community Baptist Church, with Dr. Bud Steadman officiating. Burial will follow services at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park Cemetery, Granger, Ind. The Welsheimer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Baptist Church building program.
