MISHAWAKA - Patricia Shobert, 87, of Mishawaka, passed
away Sunday afternoon in Memorial Hospital. She was born March
24, 1921, in Multnomah, Oregon, to the late Harry and Eva Ketchum
Smith. Also preceding her was an infant son, John Michael.
On March 18, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan, she
married Samuel M. Shobert, who died in 1993. Left to cherish her
memory are her daughters, Patricia and Tom Ramsey of St.
Cloud, MN, Elizabeth and Glenn Palmer of Layton, UT; sons,
James P. and Patricia Shobert of Indianapolis, IN, Timothy J. and
Vicki Shobert of Osceola, IN; 10 grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren. She was a 1942 graduate of Hamline
University, St. Paul, Minnesota, and received her B.A. in
business. She worked for Minnesota Mining in the Detroit office.
Pat was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Mishawaka,
and served the church in many capacities. She was a member of CZ
Chapter of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and the Beiger Trust. She also
volunteered at Memorial Hospital and spent most of her life doing
volunteer work.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m.
Thursday, May 15th, in the First United Methodist Church, 201 E.
Third St., Mishawaka, with Rev. Ron Bowman officiating. Friends
are invited to visit with the family today, May 14th, from 6 to 8
p.m. in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland
Road. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's
Association or to the American
Cancer Society.
