Melba Dean Shisler (Nov. 7, 1931 - Oct. 30,
1998)
MISHAWAKA - Melba Dean Shisler, 66,
of West 8th Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness
at 11:37 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, in St. Joseph's Medical Center,
South Bend, Ind.
Mrs. Shisler was born on Nov. 7, 1931, in Herrick,
Ill. as the daughter of the late Frank and Elsie (Nowlin) Austin.
On Sept. 8, 1951, in South Bend, she married
Robert L. Shisler. He preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 1997.
She is survived by two daughters, Judith
(Donald) Myers of Mishawaka and Jan (John) Danch of
South Bend; two sons, Michael (Melody) Shisler of South Bend and
James Shisler of New Carlisle, Ind.; 10 grandchildren, John,
Jason, and Jessica Myers, Nelson and Alecia Danch, Cathy, Melia
and Marah Shisler, Rick Watts and Deniese Hodges;
one sister, Norma Henderson of Washington, Ill.; and by
one brother, Ralph Austin of Herrick, Ill.
Mrs. Shisler was employed by Toasty's
Restaurant in South Bend and by Burcliff Industries in Mishawaka.
She was a member of many bowling teams at Chippewa Bowling Lanes,
South Bend.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. today in
Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka.
Memorial services will follow at 4 p.m. with
Rev. James Shafer officiating today in the funeral home.
