William F. Shirk     

William F. Shirk, aged 71, of rural routs No. 4 Box 725, Orange Road died at 8:20 a.m. today in his residence after an illness of one year. Born In Albion, Ind., Feb 4, 1876, he came here 64 years ago. On Dec. 23, 1908, he married Miss Mary Thompson who survives. He also is survived by a brother, Elmer, of South Bend. Friends may call in the Orvis Funeral Home after 7 p.m. of Saturday and until noon Monday when the body will be taken to the Portage Chapel Methodist church. Brick and Portage roads, to lie until funeral services there at 2 p.m. Monday. Rev. Dale Hamilton, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview cemetery. He was a member of the Temple court of 392, Ben Hur Life association.
