SOUTH BEND - Memorial services for Joseph J. Shireman, 19, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of South Bend, who died May 7 in Sarasota, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in South Side Church of God. Cremation has taken place. Kaniewski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Joseph Shireman Memorial Fund, Logan Center, 1235 N. Eddy St., South Bend, IN 46617.

Mr. Shireman was employed by Winn Dixie Supermarkets, Sarasota. He was born Aug. 9, 1974, in South Bend, and moved to Sarasota eight months ago. He is survived by his parents, Isabelle and David Rice of South Bend; a sister, Katherine Boocher of South Bend; three stepsisters, Tammy Jo Porter, Sharon L. Rice, and Virginia M. Rice, all of Mishawaka; and three stepbrothers, David L. Rice Jr. of South Bend, and William Rice and Michael Rice, both of Mishawaka.
