Mishawaka – Sophia Sherbun, 88,
of 1548 S. Main Street, died at 5:03 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph
Medical Center, South Bend, of natural causes. She was bor Jan.
7, 1905, in Mala Koponya, Czechoslovalda, and lived in Mishawaka
most of her life.
On Aug. 4, 1923 in Mishawaka, as Sophia Milulyuk,
she married Michael Sherbun. He died Oct. 31, 1980. She is
survived by a daughter, Mary VanBruaene of Mishawaka; a son, John
of South Bend; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two
great-greatgrandchildren. A son Mike died March 8, 1984. Shge was
a member of St. Michael’s Ukranian Byzantine Church and
Altar Society.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8
Friday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North. Where the rosary will be
said at 6 p.m.
