SOUTH BEND - John Sherbun, 68, of Olive Road, died Tuesday in his home.
Survivors include his wife, Delores; three daughters, Michelle Sherbun and Christina Williams, both of Indianapolis and Julia Sherbun of Fort Wayne; three sons, Jon of Maryland, Kevin of Mishawaka and Michael of Grand Rapids; and a sister, Mary VanBruaene of Mishawaka.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, Terre Coupe. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, where the rosary will be said at 4 p.m.

Sherbun, John 68, of South Bend, Ind.,
passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 24. He was born in Mishawaka and
lived in this area all of his life. He was a graduate of Indiana
University in Bloomington and Butler University. John was a
social worker for over 30 years, with the Indiana Boys School,
the Family and Children's Center, Big Brothers & Big Sisters
and the American Cancer Society. He was also an Army veteran of
the Korean Conflict and a member of American Legion Post 50.
Along with being a member of Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church,
Terre Coupe, he was a member of the Ushers Club of the church.
John married the former Dolores Gist on Aug.
25, 1951. She survives. Survivors also include his sister, Mary
VanBruaene of Mishawaka; six children, Michelle Sherbun of
Indianapolis, Jon Sherbun of Maryland, Kevin Sherbun of
Mishawaka, Christina Williams of Indianapolis, Julia Sherbun of
Ft. Wayne and Michael Sherbun of Grand Rapids; 12 grandchildren;
and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents,
Michael and Sophia Sherbun, and his brother, Michael Sherbun.
Viewing will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday,
Dec. 29, at Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St.,
Mishawaka. The recitation of the rosary will be at 4 p.m. Sunday.
Mass will be celebrated on Monday, Dec. 30, at 11 a.m. in St.
Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, , and will be immediately
followed by a luncheon at the church Social Center. John was a
unique and special husband, father and grandfather, and will be
missed by all who loved him. Donations may be made to Hospice of
St. Joseph County or the Holy Cross Missions in Bangladesh.
