Patricia J. Shelor, 71, of Mishawaka, passed away Sunday afternoon, December 23 in the Hospice House in South Bend. Patricia was born on November 29, 1930, in Mt. Sterling, Illinois, to Earl P. and Helen May (Kirby) Thomas. Patricia married Willard Shelor in 1964, in Mishawaka, Indiana. Patricia was also a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Mishawaka.
Patricia is survived by her husband, Willard Shelor of Mishawaka, along with four daughters, Hillary Patricia (Gene) Bunn of Dallas, Texas, Melina (Tom) Perdue McDonald of Roanoke, Virginia, Tanya Balisto of Florida and Tammy V. Shelor of Lansing, Michigan; two stepdaughters, Sandie Machler of Plymouth, Indiana and Debra Jacobs of Mishawaka; a stepson, Gary Shelor of South Carolina. Patricia is also survived by 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren, along with two sisters, Dorthy E. Burritt of Quincy, Michigan and Mary Lou Rulli of Mishawaka; and her stepfather, Tony Sisti of South Bend. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Earl P. Thomas and Helen May Sisti, along with three sisters, Betty M. Yates, Peggy Ann Akers and Donna Lee Larrison.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, December 30, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka. There will also bean hour of visitation prior to the service, which is to be held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 31 at the Church of Christ of Prophecy, 12800 McKinley Highway, Mishawaka, with Rev. Elwood Adams officiating. Burial is to follow at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County or to the Church of God of Prophecy.
