Joseph M. Sheetz

March 5, 1875 – July 7, 1948

Joseph M. Sheetz, aged 73, of 213 East Monroe Street, died at 2:30am today in his residence after an illness of one year.

He was born in Tiffin OH, March 5, 1875, and came here 50 years ago from Plymouth IN.  On September 17, 1921, in South Bend, he married Mrs. Augusta Hunt, who survives.  Other survivors are a stepdaughter, Mrs. Eugene M. Whitaker; a stepson, Leo Hunt, of South Bend, and a sister, Mrs. Rose Wilson, of Belding MI.

Friends may call in the residence after 3pm Wednesday and until funeral services at 9am Friday in St Patrick’s Catholic Church.  Rev. Wendell P. Corcoran, CSC, pastor, will officiate.  Interment will be in the mausoleum at Cedar Grove Cemetery.  The rosary will be recited at 8pm Thursday in the residence.  He was a life member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 435.
