Eldon L. Sheets

MISHAWAKA - Eldon L. Sheets, 74, of Overland Park, Kansas, died Friday in his home. He was vice president of Marsh and McLennan Inc. for 17 years, retiring in 1985. Mr. Sheets was born on Dec. 25, 1919, in Mishawaka, and had lived in the Kansas City area since 1950. His wife, Illa R. Sheets, survives. He was a World War II veteran of the Marines. Mr. Sheets was a 1949 graduate of DePaul University, Greencastle, Ind., where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, the Brookridge County Club, Friends of the Zoo, American Legion Post 0370 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Lodge 4608089.

Graveside services will be at noon Tuesday in Corning (Kansas) Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday in D.W. Newcomer's Sons, Overland Park (Kansas) Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Olathe, 20375 W. 151 St., Olathe, KS 66061.
