Sister Eileen Marie Sheehan CSC, 80, of St. Mary’s College Convent, died at 7:10 p.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Medical Center, after an illness. She was born March 2, 1906 as Ellen Sheehan in Mount Collins County, Limerick, Ireland. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on July 2, 1934. She was received as a novice on Jan. 6, 1935 and professed her vows on Feb. 2, 1937. She was assigned to housekeeping duties and served in the Presbytery at St. Mary’s from 1934 to 1967. She was then assigned to Academy of Holy Cross in Kensington, Md. from 1967 to 1969, returning to St. Mary’s and serving as sacristan from 1969 to 1984.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Loretto Church at St. Mary’s with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call today and Saturday in the convent parlor, where a wake will be at 7 p.m. today.
