Violet J. Sharrer

July 25, 1908 – June 24, 1984

Violet Juanita Sharrer, 75, of 2475 W. 850 N., Michigan City, formerly of South Bend, died at 10:30am Sunday in her home.

She was born July 25, 1908, in Rievesville WV and lived in the northern Indiana area for the last 26 years, coming from Pennsylvania.  On March 6, 1926, in Rievesville, she married Melvin S. Sharrer.  He died in 1979.  Surviving are five daughters, Betty Sullivan, Mary Visocky and Carol Berkypile, all of South Bend, Anna Mae Sharrer of Irving TX and Judith Ann Whittenburg, with whom she lived in Michigan City; a son, Melvin Sharrer Jr. of Michigan City; 21 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; two sisters, Georgia Swisher and Marie Gaskill, both of Fairmont WV; and a brother, Harry L. Martin of Winchester IN.

Services will be at 1pm Thursday in the Zahoran Funeral Home where friends may call form 6 to9pm Wednesday.  Burial will take place in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
