Danny Clyde Sharpe, 63, of Granger, passed away at 4:30 pm,
Saturday, August 3, 2013 in the Hospice House of St. Joseph
County, surrounded by family. Danny was born on August 22, 1950
in Memphis, TN, the son of the late Clyde and Gazelle (Farley)
Sharpe. He graduated from John Adams High School in 1968. Danny
married Jacqueline Owens on August 23, 1969 in the Church of God
in Mishawaka. The couple made their home in Granger where they
raised three children. Danny worked at Steel Warehouse in South
Bend for 39 years. Danny also served as a volunteer fireman with
the Penn North Fire Department. He also managed the Ice Box
Skating Rink for 15 years. Those left cherish his memory include
his wife of 43 years, Jackie; three children, Renee (Terry)
Waldorf of Mishawaka, Todd Sharpe of Granger and Michael
(Kristen) Sharpe of Greensboro, NC; six grandchildren, Brittany,
Brook, Jacob, Juliann, Lane and Dominick and two great
grandchildren, Danielle and Peighton. He is also survived by a
sister, Dorothy Layton of South Bend. He is preceded in death by
his parents and a sister, Joann. Visitation will be held from
4:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday, August 6, 2013 in Chapel Hill Funeral
Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral Services will be
held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, August 7, 2013 in the funeral home
with Rev. J. Mark Muncy officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel
Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Memorial donations may be sent to
the Kidney Foundation, 811 E 86th St., Ste 100, Indianapolis, IN
46240.
