SOUTH BEND - Charles E. Shamory, Jr.,
78, of Queen Street, South Bend, Ind., died in his residence at
6:45 p.m. on Thursday, April 17. He was born Feb. 19, 1919, in
Mishawaka, Ind., and had been a lifetime area resident.
Charles married the former Frances M. Hackney
on April 8, 1945, in South Bend, who survives. He is also
survived by three sisters, Naomi Britten of Bourbon, Ind., Helen Hostetler
of Maricopa, Ariz., and Doris Beavo of Mishawaka. He was preceded
in death by two sisters, Lillian Lewandowski and Frances Thompkins,
and by two brothers, Leo and Win Shamory. Charles retired in 1967
from Michiana Machine. He was a World War II Army veteran, and a
member of American Legion Post 303.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Monday by Sam Oliver. Entombment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph County Hospice, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
