Mishawaka – Damaris Christine Shaffer, 66, of West 10th Street, Mishawaka, passed away after an illness at 11:20 a.m. Sunday, March 2, in her residence. Ms. Shaffer was born on Feb. 15, 1931 in Mishawaka, as the daughter of Frank and Christine (Klaer) Ms. Shaffer is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Linda (Ron) Mize, Jackie (Doug) Beals and Daphine Weaver, all of Mishawaka; two sons and a daughter-in-law, William (Michelle) Barnett and John Shaffer, all of Mishawaka; five grandchildren, Heather Banghart, Angela Banghart, Jessica Mize, Zackorie Barnett and Tiffany Barnett; two great-grandchildren, Alyssa Banks and Ryan Coussens; six sisters, Patricia Barone of Mishawaka, Sally Smith of Salt Lake City, Utah, Judy Crowe of Mishawaka, Carol Glastra of South bend, Kate Holmes of Redwood City, Calif. and Chris Cripe of Osceola, Ind., and John Parr of Mishawaka.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in Hahn Funeral Home, Mishawaka, with Rev. Steve Nani, CSC, officiating.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Hahn Funeral Home. Memorials contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
