Mary Setlak: (South Bend Tribune 4/27/1987)
Mary Setlak, 76, 1289 Maiden Lane, St. Joseph, formerly of South
Bend, died at 10 a.m. Friday in Mercy Memorial hospital, St.
Joseph. Mrs. Setlak was born March 25, 1911, in South Bend. On
July 10, 1929, she married Walter Setlak. He died Dec. 5, 1976.
She is survived by two daughters, Norma Krieger of St. Joseph and
Joanne Glon of New Carlisle; a son John of Three Rivers; eight
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six sisters, Gene Guljas,
Evelyn Tatay, Gertrude Pickens and Rose Kaczmarczyk, all of South
Bend, Matilda Pudney of Michigan and Irene Lickatowich of Oregon;
and two brothers, Edward Penkala and Clem Penkala, both of South
Bend. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of
Hungary Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Zahoran Funeral
Home, where the rosary will be recited by Sacred Heart and Rosary
Society and St. Annes Society at 6:30 p.m.
