SOUTH BEND - C. Joseph "Gerry" Sequin, passed
away on Thursday in his home. He was born in Lawrence, MA. On
June 8, 1952 he married Theresa M. Pomerleau who preceded
him in death on May 17, 1984.
On march 14, 1987 he married Gertrude
"Dee" Rehling, who survives. Along with is wife
he is survived by his son, John (Cynthia) Sequin of Carmel, IN;
daughters, Susan (Kevin) Jehl of Leo, IN, Barbara Sequin
of South Bend; stepdaughter, Denice M. Cazillo of South
Bend; nine grandchildren; three great-granddaughter; and a
brother, Robert (Elizabeth) Sequin of Colchester, CT. He was
preceded in death by his sisters, Irene Hurst, and Claire Demers;
and brother, Richard Sequin.
Gerry received his BS from Fordham
University, MA from Boston University, and his Ph.D. from
Michigan State University. He joined the faculty at the
University of Notre Dame in 1959 where he also served as director
fo the Master of Science in Administration Program. Additionally
he was founder and director of the AMOPA/Notre Dame Management
Development Program for 30 years. Gerry retired in 1990 to Cape
Coral, FL, and returned to Indiana in June 2005.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Basilica of the Sacred
Heart, Notre Dame with Rev. Mark Thesing CSC, officiating, with
visitation one hour before mass in the Basilica. In lieu of
flowers the family request memorials be made to Hope Hospice
& Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN
46637, or Alzheimer Services of Northern Indiana (Research), 922
E. Colfax Ave., South Bend, IN. 46617. McGann Hay Funeral Home is
handling arrangements.
