Jacob J. Seeger, 87, of East LaSalle
Avenue, South Bend, Ind., died Saturday morning, Nov. 20, in
Cardinal Nursing Home. Jacob was employed for Hickey Construction
Company, South Bend, for 20 years, and with School City of South
Bend for 25 years as a carpenter. He was born Oct. 2, 1917, in
South Bend, to William and Julia (Haberly) Seeger, who
preceded him in death; a sister, Margaret Sonneborn; and
two brothers, Paul and William Seeger.
Surviving is his wife, Mary (Klein) Carter,
who he married Sept. 10, 1963; a niece, Mary Margaret Sonneborn
of South Bend; a step- son, James (Mary Jo) Carter of Osceola,
Ind.; four grandchildren, Christine C. Carter Eggers, J.
Michael Carter, Catherine M. Gentry, and Michele Van
Tubbergen; and four great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at
10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, in Saint Joseph Catholic Church, South
Bend. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 22,
in the HICKEY Funeral Homes, 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd., where a
Rosary will be said at 3:30 p.m. Jacob was World War II Army
veteran, graduate of South Bend Central High School and a member
of St. Joseph Parish, where memorials may be made.
