John J. Seago
March 7, 1923 - April 10, 2000
John J. Seago, 77, of Farm Lane, South Bend, Ind., passed away after an illness at 2:25 a.m. on Monday, April 10, in Regency Place, South Bend.
Mr. Seago was born on March 7, 1923, in Michigan City, Ind.
On May 29, 1948, in St. Matthew Cathedral, South Bend, he married the former Mary Ruth Livers. Mr. Seago is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary; one daughter, Katherine Ann Brown of Annapolis, Md., and one son, John Robert "Bob" Seago of South Bend; three grandchildren, Katherine Marie Seago of South Bend, Andrew Rossback and Joshua Seago of Annapolis, Md.; and by two brothers, Louis Seago and Richard Seago, both of South Bend.
Mr. Seago was the owner and operator of the Whispering Pines Kennel for 26 years, and retired in 1988. He was a member of the K of C #1878, Mishawaka, and a member of the K of C Golf League, as well as a member of the bowling league. Mr. Seago was also a Grand Knight.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 West 8th Street, Mishawaka, where a wake prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 13, in Christ the King Catholic Church, South Bend. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
