SOUTH BEND - Charles E. "Charlie" Scussell, 93,
of St. Petersburg, FL, died Monday, December 31, 2007, at
Gracewood Nursing Home, under Hospice care.
He was born in South Bend, IN on October 22,
1914. He was a musician first with his own band of five loyal
members (Peptones) and a man of many different trades.
He was a lifetime member of the South Bend
Federation of Musicians and played in the South Bend Symphony
Orchestra. He worked at Sears & Roebuck for a number of
years. Survivors include: two daughters, Janice Rozwarski
of St. Petersburg, FL and Jeanne Witucki of South Bend,
IN; a son, Edward D. of Albuquerque, NM; eight grandchildren,
Denise, Dawn and Doug Rozwarski of St. Petersburg, Theresa Wysong
and Kim Izdepski of South Bend, IN, Christine King
of Indianapolis, IN, Samantha of California and David Scussel of
Colorado; eight great-grandchildren, Dustin, Morgan, Ross Jr.,
Angela, Austin, Quintin, Madi and Kelsey; and two
step-great-grandsons, Keith and Daniel.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers
donations be made to The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast, 5771
Roosevelt Blvd, Clearwater, FL 33760. A memorial service will be
held on Saturday at Anderson-McQueen NE Chapel at 11:00 a.m.
