GRANGER - Henry J. Scroope V, 4 months old, passed away
peacefully in his parents' arms at Riley Hospital for Children in
Indianapolis after a courageous four-month battle with
complications related to heart and lung disease. He is survived
by his loving parents, Henry J. Scroope IV and Maggie (Long)
Scroope of Granger, Indiana; as well as his big sister, Morgan
Scroope (3). He is also survived by his grandparents, Catherine
Scroope of Staten Island, NY, and John and Mary Long of
Manchester, CT. He also leaves behind aunts, Susan Long of
London, UK, Maureen Long of New York, NY, Catherine Scroope of
Staten Island, NY, and Lauren Scroope of Staten Island, NY;
great-aunts and great-uncles, Rev. Edward A. Malloy, CSC, of
Notre Dame, IN, Joanne Rorapaugh of Washington, DC, Robert and
Nancy Dolce of Springfield, VA, Maureen O'Brien of Staten Island,
NY, Patricia O'Brien of New York, NY, and George Scroope of
Staten Island, NY. He will also be missed by the many members of
his medical care team at Memorial Children's Hospital in South
Bend and Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. Visitation
will take place Monday, Feb. 8th, from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m.
in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive in South
Bend. A Catholic Mass will take place Tuesday, Feb. 9th, at 9:30
a.m. in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on the campus of the
University of Notre Dame, with burial to follow at Cedar Grove
Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Memorial Children's Hospital
in South Bend, Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, or to
Ronald McDonald House Charities.
