Sister Marie Agatha CSC, 72, of St. Mary’s Convent, died Wednesday afternoon in the convent after a brief illness. Born July 22, 1901 in Chicago, she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s on Nov. 27, 1920, coming from Chicago. She had taught in St. Joseph School in South Bend from 1922 to 1925, and schools in California, Idaho, Utah, Washington DC, and Virginia. She is survived by two sisters.

Friends may call today and Friday in St. Mary’s Convent. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of Loretto Church at St. Mary’s, with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in the convent chapel.
