Elsie A. Scott

Elsie A. Scott, 91, of East Jefferson in Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9, at St. Joseph Re-gional Medical Center in South Bend, Ind.

Elsie was born on May 2, 1908, in Clay City, Ind., to Charles and Melissa (Thomas) Neiswinger, who both preceded her in death. On Aug. 2, 1925, in South Bend, Elsie married James A. Scott, who passed away on May 26, 1986. Elsie was also preceded in death by her brother, Charles Neiswinger.

Elsie leaves to cherish her memories her son, James Scott of Mishawaka; daughters, Alice (Kenneth) Anderson of Englewood, Fla., Rosemary (Ray) Allen of Needham, Ind., Diana (Virgil) Jenkins of Brazil, Ind., and Joan Scott of Martinsville, Ind.; one brother, Duane Neiswinger of Anderson, Ind.; five grandchildren, Colleen Vandergrif of Reynolds-burg, Ohio, Scott Allen of Indianapolis, Ind., Kathy (Greg) McLaughlin of Vienna, Va., Ken (Karen) Anderson of Grottoes, Va., Chip Jenkins of Brazil, Ind.; seven great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Alexian Vandergriff of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Neil, Nathan, Colleen McLaughlin of Vienna, Va., and Kaitlyn Anderson of Grottoes, Va.

Elsie worked for Uniroyal for 20 years and retired in 1986. She was a member of the U.A.W., Eastern Star in Osceola, Ind., White Shrine Association, and the Community Congregational Church.

Friends may visit with the Scott family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 13, at the Chapel Hill Funeral Home. There will be an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m. Rev. David Carlson of the Community Congregational Church in South Bend will be officiating.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola.
