Stella V. Sciba

November 21, 1888 - January 12, 1974

Mrs. Stella V. Sciba, 85, of 1322 W. Poland St., died at 4:30pm Saturday in St Joseph's Hospital following a three months illness.  She retired in 1957 from the University of Notre Dame, where she was employed five years.

She was born on November 21, 1888, in Poland, and came to South Bend as a child.  On June 29, 1920, in South Bend, as Stella V. Grzezinski, she was married to Frank Sciba, who died May 12, 1946.

Surviving are two sons, Bernard F. of South Bend and Modest T., at home; two grandchildren, and four sisters, Mrs. Katherine Jozwiak, Mrs. Bernice Torzewski, Mrs. Laura Zakrzewski and Mrs. Genevieve Rafalski, all of South Bend.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 pm today and 2 to 9pm Monday at the Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home.  Services will be at 9am Tuesday at St. Casimir's Catholic Church, with Rev. George H. Szymanowski, CSC pastor, officiating.
