Sister M. Helen Joseph CSC, 82, of St. Mary’s Convent, died there Saturday afternoon. She was born as Clara Elizabeth Schwind Nov. 7, 1898 in South Bend, and entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on July 1, 1920. She was received as a novice Jan. 6, 1921 and made her profession of vows Aug. 15, 1923. She taught at several elementary schools throughout Indiana and Illinois, and retired to Our Lady of Holy Cross Convent in South Bend in 1969, moving to St. Mary’s Convent in 1975. Survivors include a sister, Sister M. DeLourdes CSJ of Tipton, Ind.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Our Lady of Loretto Church. Friends may call in the convent parlor where a wake service will be at 7 p.m. today.
