SOUTH BEND - Sister Mildred Schwartz, CSC, 72, of Our Lady of Holy Cross Convent, died at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in her residence. She was born June 29, 1922, in Washington, D.C.
She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, Saint Mary's, on Feb. 3, 1941, coming from Washington, D.C.; was received as a novice Aug. 15, 1941; and professed her final vows on Aug. 15, 1943. She was assigned to teaching in Washington, D.C., Lancaster, Pa., Baltimore and Bexley, Ohio.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Church of Loretto, Saint Mary's. Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Saint Mary's. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday in the church, where a wake will be at 7 p.m.
