Brother Juvian Schwartz CSC, who operated
the truck garden on the St. Joseph Farm of the Brothers of Holy
Cross at Notre Dame, died at 7:15 p.m. Saturday in St. Joseph
Hospital of a heart attack. He was born in Cleveland Sept. 6,
1897, and took his religious training at the novitiate in Rolling
Prairie and at Dujarie Hall at Notre Dame. He received his habit
Aug. 15, 1937 and took his profession Aug. 15, 1951.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Agnes Greising
of Walden, N.Y. and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Carl Schwartz of Sun
Valley, Calif.
Friends may call in Columba Hall after 5
p.m. today. The Office of the Dead will be recited at 5 p.m.
Monday in Sacred Heart Church on the campus, where funeral
services will be held at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in the
Community Cemetery at Notre Dame.
