August H. Schwanz

March 23, 1879 – July 1, 1945

August H. Schwanz, aged 66, of 2314 South High Street, died at 1:15am Sunday in Memorial (Epworth) Hospital after an illness of two years.

Born March 23, 1879, in Arcola IL, he married Miss Bertha Myers January 7, 1901, in Arcola.  He moved from Arcola to South Bend 30 years ago.  He is survived by the widow; twin sons, Fred A & Ned C. Schwanz, both of South Bend; three grandchildren; one brother, William J. Schwanz,of Arcola; and five sisters, Mrs. Hannah Magnuson, Mrs. Mary Wahl, Mrs Louise Ewald and Mrs. J. C. Ludolph, all of Arcola and Mrs Gusta Houke, Ottawa IL.

Friends may call in the Hay Funeral Home until the funeral there at 2pm Tuesday, Rev. Edward M. Sausaman, pastor of Ewing Avenue Evangelical Church, will officiate. Burial will be in St Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
