Sister M. Cleophas Schutz CSC, 86, of Saint Mary’s Convent, died at 1:30 a.m. today in her residence. She was born on Feb. 11, 1906 in Grafenhausling, Germany as Kunigunda Schultz. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s on Oct. 8, 1922 coming from Munich, Germany. She was received as a novice Aug. 15, 1923, and professed her vows Aug. 15, 1925. She was assigned to household duties and dietary services including assignments in Nebraska; Salt Lake City and Ogden Utah; Tucson, Ariz.; and Ventura, Palo Alto, Sacramento and Watsonville in California.

Services will be in Christ the King Chapel of St. Mary’s Convent with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Thursday in the chapel, where a wake will be at 7 p.m.
