Louisa A. Schutz, 90, of South
Bancraft Circle, Mishawaka, Ind., died Monday, July 9, in
Fountainview Place, Mishawaka. She was born on July 18, 1910, in
Sidsmouth, England.
On Sept. 7, 1947, as Louisa Hatchley,
she married Lester Schutz in Bremen, Ind., who preceded her in
death on Nov. 14, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her
parents, Jack and Mercy "Carrie" Hatchley; a daughter,
Irene M. Schutz in 1953; and by two brothers and one sister. She
is survived by two daughters, Mary (Schutz) Hatchley of Mishawaka
and Mavis Lewis of Baton Rouge, La.; six grandchildren,
Craig Lewis of Kansas, Michael Lewis of Florida, Mark Lewis of
Ohio, Susan Hall of Ohio, Shane Detert of South
Bend, Ind., and Nevin Detert of Mishawaka; and by five
great-grandchildren. In 1955 she became an American citizen of
which she was very proud.
Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m.
on Thursday, July 12, in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S.
Mayflower Road. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 13,
in the chapel at Bremen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be
made to the American Cancer Society, 535 W. Edison, Unit #6,
Mishawaka, IN 46545. She would like to thank all those who cared
for her in her last days. Her loving nature, gentle heart, and
strong faith in the Lord shall be remembered and greatly missed.
